Student Life

The mission of Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat embodies an education for girls in a supportive and challenging atmosphere in which to thrive and grow as individuals, together, and as part of the larger community and world.

At every stage of her education the Sacred Heart student is busy building the qualities and tools to meet life’s challenges. The importance of exceptional skills in communication, analytical thinking and collaboration, as well as the accountability that comes with the practice of “wise freedom” underlie her experience at every turn. Students are encouraged to take risks, reach beyond their comfort level, and expect more from themselves as lifelong learners and responsive leaders.

Each individual girl plays an integral role in a diverse community of peers who learn and grow together - inside the classroom and out. From Community Service Corps to Student Council, from all-school ceremonies to the annual yearbook, Sacred Heart students form a sense of personal investment in their school. The daily experience on campus fosters a sense of structure and belonging, with comfortable furnishings, family-style dining, and friendly, accessible faculty and staff.
