The school community gathered to celebrate the start of the school year during a Mass of the Holy Spirit. This is also known as First Friday Mass and is a shared tradition with our 24 Sacred Heart Schools in the United States and Canada.
I experienced growth in service and justice by helping out children at their summer camp. I also became more appreciative of what I have, and aware of how fortunate I am.
After my Network summer service experience in New Orleans, I am very thankful for everything I have. I will start thinking about the little things and be happy. Not everyone lives the life I do now, and I should be very thankful for that.
I felt more connected to the Network of Sacred Heart Schools and our Goals. I also realized that we have the ability to help others.
While in Miami, summer service helped me become more connected to the Sacred Heart Goals because I never really thought of the action, I just thought of what each Goal meant. During the week, I experienced every single Goal (5).
The building of a community starts with clear dialogue. Faculty and staff participated in dialogue training through the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change during in-service.
