Julia Gagliardi '15 Selected for Read360 Literary Event

Read650 selected a piece written by Julia Gagliardi '15 who is currently a young writer at Fordham University studying English and Sociology. A recipient of the 2016 Kate Herzog Writing Scholarship award and finalist in the 2018 Stony Brook Short Fiction Prize, Julia's piece "The Forty Foot" was selected for the 650 "Straight Outta Ireland", true stories of immigration, adaptation, and celebration summed up in 5 minutes and 650 words.  Read365 celebrates the spoken word with readings organized around a single broad topic. Julia performed her reading for a live audience at New York's City Winery as part of the Carnegie Hall's citywide spring festival. "Migrations: The Making of America," acknowledging and honoring the perseverance and resilience of immigrants and the contributions they continue to make on America's cultural landscape.
