For the first time in program history, Sacred Heart Volleyball has advanced to the semifinals of the PIAA Single A State Championship. It took five grueling sets against an undefeated Mount Calvary Christian, but SHVB was not to be denied.

Sacred Heart won the first two sets, lost the next two, and then came on to win the fifth in a seesaw game. Scores were 25-21, 27-25, 21-25, 21-25 and 17-15.

Senior co-captain Erin Corcoran '21 led the way with 18 kills, including the game winner in game 5. She also chipped in 14 digs and four aces. Co-captain Bella O’Toole '22, anchored the defense with 24 digs. Emily McKenna '23 added 10 kills and 12 digs, while Liz Cuskey '23 came up big with seven aces. Freshman setter Annie Corcoran '24 had 42 assists.

Despite losing two key players -- sophomores Macie Moresco and Aly Albanese -- to injury this year, the team has rallied to reach new heights. They will take on District 11 champs Marian Catholic on November 17 at Marian Catholic in an effort to land a spot in the PA State Championship game. The semi-final game will be live-streamed via the SHVB YouTube channel. Game time is 6 pm.
