All are welcome!
Darby Creek Valley Association (DCVA) is a local non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and enhancement of the Darby Creek watershed and its resources. In early 2017, DCVA surveyed our historic wetland at the base of our 12-acre campus, which over the years had become overgrown and crowded with invasive plants and trees, forcing out native species.
DCVA has partnered with SHA to restore this area as a valuable wetland, accessible to students, researchers, and the community.
On Sunday, April 18 Darby Creek Valley Association (DCVA) will host an outdoor cleanup in the wetland. Work will be led by volunteers from DCVA and will involve the removal of weeds and invasive plants. Please bring your own tools and gloves and wear shoes that can get muddy. DCVA will also have tools available for those who need them.
The event is from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m., but volunteers are welcome to come and leave when they can. Please plan to wear a mask and observe COVID-19 safety protocols. All are welcome!
