The school community is enjoying a refreshed "Mater's Welcome Garden" by the schoolhouse Red Doors. Gardening volunteers from the faculty and staff joined together to create a new planting plan to replace overgrown shrubs. The design includes perennial plants that will provide seasonal blooms in shades of pink and white, the colors symbolizing Mater.
Volunteers shared their favorite home varieties, giving them a new "home" to flourish and be enjoyed by our community. The varieties include Japanese anemones, bleeding hearts, coral bells, lenten roses, and astilbes. We look forward to the plants getting acclimated to their new spot.
Thank you to our volunteers: Jeannine Lincoln, Meg Tredinnick, Lisa Brairton, Lauren Deets, Eileen Day, Suzanne Robinson, and all who will help keep the garden nourished with water!
We hope you feel the "welcome" as you walk or drive by!
