Ruth Hartz Shares Her Story as a Hidden Child

During our Sophie Day on Wednesday, Mrs. Ruth Kapp Hartz, a holocaust survivor and an author who wrote of her experiences as a “hidden child” during World War II, graciously shared her story with the girls. Having the opportunity to hear her speak as well as to ask her questions was a profound experience for all, especially when she reminded the girls that they are the last generation to hear these stories first-hand and that it is their responsibility to share her story. As she wrapped up her presentation Mrs. Hartz said, ‘You are the voices to tell our history to future generations. I am counting on you to continue telling our stories.” What an awesome responsibility.
