Congratulations to Clare McLaughlin '24 and Yara Memar '25 for receiving the Founder’s Award from the Emergency Aid of Pennsylvania Foundation. Through its mission, the EA “awards grants to local nonprofits to improve the lives of women and children and it promotes education, leadership and community service by mentoring young women and providing scholarships.” Founder's Awards were established in 1956 and are presented annually to young women nominated by their school in recognition of their community service activities and leadership qualities.
The Emergency Aid Founders Committee chooses approximately twenty students based on a written application, demonstrated leadership, and good citizenship.
As award recipients, Clare and Yara will be part of a cohort with the other young women for their remaining years of high school. Together, they will receive mentorship, engage in volunteer work, and develop leadership skills. During their senior years, they will be eligible for a scholarship from the Foundation. Ellie Baggini '20 received a scholarship from the organization. Kyra Sanotra, Class of 2022, Aly Albanese, Class of 2023, Jaime Donatucci, Class of 2023, and Emily Hart, Class of 2023 are previous award recipients. Congratulations Clare and Yara! emergency aid >
