Freshman, Kyra Santora ‘22 received The Emergency Aid of Pennsylvania Foundation Founders Award on April 27. The award ceremony was held at Cabrini University in Radnor. The annual Founders Award Program was established in 1956 as a memorial and tribute to the eight Philadelphia women who founded the Emergency Aid of Pennsylvania in 1914. The awardees are selected based on activities within the school and community demonstrating leadership and fostering good citizenship, recommendations from a teacher and an essay answering a question provided by the committee. The award is given to students in Grade 9 and allows them three years of participating in seminars, on relevant topics such as self-esteem and time management, and completing volunteering opportunities, such as trips to local women’s shelters, Cradles to Crayons and the Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia. Kyra will be a candidate for the Emergency Aid of Pennsylvania Foundation Scholarships in her senior year of high school.
