Sacred Heart Academy Bryn Mawr is a Catholic, independent college preparatory school for girls. Founded in 1865 by the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the school has been lay-owned and governed since 1969. Chief Financial Officer
Position available July 1, 2025
Sacred Heart Academy Bryn Mawr (SHA) seeks an experienced and dynamic individual to serve as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The ideal candidate is a relational and collaborative leader who demonstrates creative, strategic and critical thinking, cultural competency, emotional intelligence, and a sense of humor. The CFO will report to the Head of School and serve as an integral member of the School’s nine-member senior leadership team. Directing all financial activities of the School including facilities and operations, the CFO will also be a collaborative and strategic partner with the Business Manager, members of the Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees, Director of Advancement, and Director of Enrollment Management.
The CFO will provide leadership, oversight, and stewardship for all aspects of SHA’s financial resources while ensuring absolute institutional integrity on fiscal matters, promoting best practices in finance and administration. As a strategic leader, the CFO will attend Board meetings as necessary to serve as the institution’s chief fiscal and fiduciary officer and to issue financial and management statements and reports. The CFO will act as a liaison to the Board and external stakeholders; provide strategic leadership and advice for stewarding the school’s financial resources; and hold responsibility for financial strategy decisions that align with the mission and vision of the School. The CFO will oversee accounting, finance, and budget activities and work with the Head of School to oversee risk management. The CFO will be responsible for ancillary and support services including property management and outsourced services such as dining. The CFO serves as the staff liaison on several Board committees, including Finance and Investment and others as prescribed by the Head of School.

K-8 Science Teacher
Position available August 2025
Sacred Heart Academy (SHA) Bryn Mawr (PA) seeks a dynamic, reflective, passionate, and experienced K-8 Science Teacher for the 2025-26 academic year. The position includes teaching science to grades K-8 in the Lower and Middle Schools. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic educator who has experience with phenomenon-centered teaching practices for elementary and/or middle school science courses. The candidate possesses a willingness to collaborate with dedicated educators within the Sacred Heart faculty. The candidate will demonstrate a passion for working with adolescent girls as well as a commitment to the development of the whole child.
The candidate will also have opportunities to participate in the life of the school by serving as an advisor, leading a club, or coaching a sports team.

Director of Music

Sacred Heart Academy “SHA” Bryn Mawr (PA) is a Catholic, independent college preparatory school for girls founded in 1865 by the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and lay-owned and governed since 1969. Serving approximately 150 students in kindergarten through twelfth-grade, the School is seeking a self-directed, experienced, and energetic DIRECTOR OF MUSIC in anticipation of the 2025-2026 school year. This is a full-time position.
The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic collaborator who seeks professional growth and learning every day and inspires others to do the same through optimism, selflessness, flexibility, and teamwork. The candidate will possess a willingness to collaborate with dedicated educators within the Sacred Heart faculty. The candidate will show empathy for and a passion to work with adolescent girls as well as a commitment to the development of the whole child.
Responsibilities:
- Teach Lower School Music classes (General Music & Choir)
- Teach Middle School Music classes (General Music, Choir & Piano Lab)
- Teach Upper School Music elective (one semester)
- Teach quarter-long music seminar class to freshmen
- Oversee after-school instrumental lessons program (hiring teachers, coordinating schedules, managing payment, etc.)
- Organize two yearly instrumental recitals
- Conduct Upper School Choir (rehearsals 3-4x/week before or after school)
- Coordinate all-school concerts (winter & spring)
- Prepare/rehearse music for school liturgies (in coordination with Campus Minister)
- Serve as accompanist for school liturgies & events (including 7-8 weekend and/or evening events)
- Oversee departmental budget
- Attend Academic Board meetings
- Other duties as assigned (lunch/recess duty, covering classes, etc.)

School Nurse
Long-Term Substitute
(Position Available: Winter 2025)
Sacred Heart Academy Bryn Mawr (SHA) is seeking a part-time, hourly, and non-exempt School Nurse for a long-term substitution position from February 24, 2025 through June 6, 2025. The School Nurse will be responsible for on-site recommendations and management of health-related issues including direct interaction with children, families, and school personnel.
As the School's primary medical caregiver, the nurse supports the health and wellness of all students in grades K-12 and adult members of the community. The nurse must be collaborative and able to work well on a team. As a member of our multi-disciplinary team, the nurse delivers health services for students in a timely manner; offers assessment and medical referral; educates the community on important health issues; identifies health problems and collaborates with parents, primary care physicians, school counselors, Safety Coordinator, division heads, administrators, and teachers to develop student healthcare plans; and ensures the safety and health of the community. Sacred Heart Academy is interested in candidates with experience in school health, pediatrics, concussion management, triage, and community health.
