International Sacred Heart Schools

Sacred Heart Academy Bryn Mawr (SHA) is a member of the International Sacred Heart Schools -  with 150+ schools in 41 countries with 1 shared Mission. Within this group is the Network of Sacred Heart Schools composed of 25 schools in the United States and Canada. These groups connect SHA students to a greater community and offer exchange, academic, and service programs unmatched by other area schools.

Whether it be hands-on experience through criminal justice service work in Texas, a broadened understanding of cultural values through an exchange program in Germany, or immersive dialogue focusing on climate change with students from four continents - SHA students are poised and confident to lead in our increasingly global world.

Years of Sacred Heart Education

As a Child of the Sacred Heart, I know that I am a part of something larger than myself. The Sacred Heart Network has always been one of my favorite things about my education. My work with the Network Student Advisory Committee and participation in Summer Service and dialogue programs have allowed my education to extend beyond the classroom. I have come to better understand myself and my place in the world. The experiences and tools the Network has given me inspires me to enact change in the world."

- Emily H. '23

Emily's Network participation includes: Network Student Advisory Committee (Founding Member); Discovering Differences and Diversity through Dialogue, Solidarity and Sustainability Dialogue; Sacred Heart Live Virtual Exchange; Juvenile Justice Summer Service; The Land on Which We Stand: An Examination of the Indigenous Experience (Greenwich, CT); two Network Exchanges (Lake Forest Academy, IL); Living Our Mission: St. Madeleine Sophie's Vision for Education - An Examination of the Past, Present, and Future (St. Louis, MO); Roots Leadership Conference (St. Louis, MO); Hearts Fighting Hunger Summer Service (Greenwich, CT).

Providing a Framework for Global Education

Network Resouces

In 1800, St. Madeleine Sophie Barat founded the Society of the Sacred Heart in France. Her purpose was to make known God's love, and her vision continues today in Sacred Heart schools. Independent but never isolated, every Sacred Heart school needs to feel the strength of belonging to a larger whole, of sharing principles and values, broad purposes, of hopes and ambitions.
