Welcome from the Head of School

Hello from the Hill in Bryn Mawr!

My belief in the power of an all-girls education is deeply personal. As a graduate of an all-girls high school myself, I experienced firsthand the confidence, intellectual curiosity, and sense of purpose that such an environment can cultivate. That experience continues to shape my commitment to helping girls discover their voices and develop the courage to lead lives of meaning and impact.

In this environment, girls are encouraged to lead boldly, think deeply, and discover the strength of their own voices.

For more than 160 years, Sacred Heart Academy (SHA) has been a place where girls are known, supported, and challenged to grow. Rooted in the educational vision of St. Madeleine Sophie Barat, Sacred Heart is part of a global Network of Sacred Heart Schools committed to forming the whole person—mind, heart, and spirit.

At SHA, academic excellence is paired with a deep sense of community. Our students are encouraged to think critically, pursue their passions, and engage thoughtfully with the world around them. Whether in the classroom, on the athletic field, through the arts, or in service to others, our girls learn that leadership begins with empathy, courage, and integrity.

What makes Sacred Heart truly special is the strength of our community. Faculty and staff know our students well and care deeply about their growth. Families partner with us in supporting each girl’s journey, and our alumnae remain connected long after graduation, carrying forward the values and friendships formed here.

We believe every girl has unique gifts and a meaningful role to play in shaping the future. Our responsibility is to help her discover those gifts, develop her confidence, and grow into the person she is called to become.

We invite you to discover what makes Sacred Heart such a remarkable place—where every girl is known.
