Birthday Book Club

Dear Sacred Heart Academy Community,

In honor of their birthday, students and families are invited to sponsor a book for the Sacred Heart Academy Library. This year’s Wish List corresponds with the 2018 American Library Association Award Books.

When a family sponsors a book, a bookplate will be posted in the front of the book with a dedication to the sponsor.

Helen Potts, one of our fifth-grade students, suggested the Birthday Book idea. I asked her to share her thoughts on this program. She writes:

When I first heard about the concept of birthday books my number one thought was “awesome!” and yours will be too. A book in your honor, with a sticker with your name in the front. So cool, right? Each year will have a theme, like fantasy, or historical fiction, and you can pick out any book from that genre for the library.
It’s a great new birthday tradition for everybody. You will have your name displayed for all to see and you will be sharing a story with your friends and you will be adding to our wonderful library. Thank you and Happy Birthday!

If you are interested in participating in this program, please complete the form and return it to school, to the attention of the librarian. You will receive a confirmation letter as to your book, the price of the book, and the bookplate inscription.

Every child enjoys reading a new and interesting book, especially if the book is one that recognizes her birthday!

Thank you for your support of this program and your generous support of the Sacred Heart Academy Library.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Catherine Scholl
Sacred Heart Academy Librarian
