The library is located on the first floor of the School House building and is staffed by a full-time certified library media specialist. The area consists of a two-story library and a computer lab.
Students and faculty have access to:
- computer stations
- an interactive whiteboard
- a flat screen television
- Apple TV access
- Additional computers are available in the computer lab during specified times.
Research at Sacred Heart Academy relies on a growing collection of print and non-print resources. The print collection begins with reference books and periodicals located on the top level of the library. The library houses nearly 9,000 books and several magazines and journals.Middle-school and upper-school fiction and non-fiction books can be found on the lower level tall stacks. The lower-school collection is located in the shorter stacks near the reading corner.

- Lower-school students visit the library once a week for book selection and library activities.
- Middle and Upper School students may visit the library during lunch, study periods, or immediately after school.
- Teachers in the Middle and Upper Schools schedule library time for their students to meet with the librarian for instruction and research as needed.
The computer lab is staffed by a full-time instructional media specialist and is equipped with 25 desktop computers and a smart board. A black and white or color printing and a pay-per-copy machine is available.
Instruction in the lab is coordinated with classroom teachers, the computer teacher, and the librarian, providing an authentic learning experience for the student.
The students enjoy authors and special guest readers throughout the year.
The mission of our library is to develop students who are independent and effective users of information in accordance with the five goals of a Sacred Heart education and the nine standards of information literacy. The library strives to afford students opportunities to be critical thinkers, lifelong readers, enthusiastic learners, and discriminating decision makers.
