During the spring of senior year, students spend one week as an intern working in an area related to their career interests. An oral presentation detailing their experience as part of their senior curriculum is required. The Director of the Upper School and a teacher supervise the Independent Study Program. Students must meet announced deadlines and receive parental permission to participate in the program. In early spring there is a career day for the Upper School students. Over the years many Sacred Heart Alumnae participate is this day and share their career paths after Sacred Heart and college. Many students have made connections with alumnae and have been placed in their businesses for their independent study.
