This summer Mimi Warnick, ‘14 had the pleasure of returning to Upper Darby Summer Stage, a program she grew up with since 2007 as the Director of the Rising Stars program. Mimi worked with over a hundred 7th and 8th graders over the summer to perform two productions of Seussical Kids, a musical filled with the stories of Dr. Seuss. “It has been a dream to return to Summer Stage as a director, and give back to the program that has developed my love for theatre, while also putting my education to use as this is my first professional job as a director,” says Mimi. Mimi also enjoyed being home this summer before leaving for London this fall to work at the Camden People's Theater, where she will experience theatre as a global industry, before completing her BFA in Directing this spring at Emerson College.
Through her time at Sacred Heart Mimi participated in the theatre program under Mrs. Carolyn Slota with some of her favorite roles being Jan in Grease (2012) and Dolly in Hello, Dolly! (2014). Since being in Boston, Mimi has directed several shows such as Godspell, Yo, Vikings!, and A New Brain. She looks forward to directing Spring Awakening and Urinetown before she graduates this upcoming May.
