History in the Making: SHVB to Play in State Championship

Sacred Heart Volleyball's Pennsylvania State Championship run is still alive! A convincing 3-0 win over Canton Area High School in the PIAA Class A State semifinal on Tuesday has landed the team in the state championship game, slated for Saturday, November 20.

Dominant serving runs were a big key to the win (25-18, 25-15, 25-8). Liz Cuskey '23, Aly Albanese '23, Macie Moresco '23 and Annie Corcoran '24 all came up big at the service line with multiple aces. Junior Emily McKenna added an ace as well while leading the team with 10 kills.

Co-captain Bella O'Toole '22 was stellar on the defensive side, while sophomore Lilly Hornickle chipped in with key blocks in the middle.

The Lions will now face defending state champ Clarion Area High School for the championship at Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg at 10:30am. Get your tickets here.
