It was a sweep for the SHA volleyball team in the first round of the PIAA state tournament last night (Nov. 9). Their opponent, District 3 champion Lititz Christian, was 21-3 going into the game, but couldn't get past SHVB who won it in three straight sets by scores of 25-16, 25-23 and 25-15.
Students, faculty and staff came out in large numbers to cheer on SHA to the win, which propels them into Saturday's quarterfinal and a rematch from last year's semifinal battle with District 11 champ Marian Catholic.
"Unfinished business" has been the team's mantra all year, referencing the semifinal loss last year, a 5-set heartbreaker that kept SHA out of the PIAA state final.
The game will be played at 11 a.m. at Schuylkill Valley High School in Leesport, PA. 19533. Tickets will only be sold online. Good luck SHVB!
