Applying to Upper School

We're confident that the more you know about Sacred Heart Academy Bryn Mawr, the more you'll love it here. Continue to explore our website pages to learn more about the SHA Experience. As you go through the application steps, reach out to our Admissions office at any time; we take pride in our personal assistance.

Admissions Events

We look forward to meeting you! Please join us at one of our upcoming Admission Events to see — and feel — what distinguishes Sacred Heart Academy Bryn Mawr (SHA) from other schools. We're confident that you'll be impressed with our academic programs with a global perspective, small class size, the values that play out in everyday life on the hill, beautiful campus, and incredibly warm community.

High School Placement Test (HSPT) - Scholarship Exam

Sacred Heart Academy utilizes the HSPT for admission and merit scholarship consideration. Applicants are invited to take the HSPT at SHA on Sunday, October 22 or Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 8:45 a.m. For your convenience, a student's online applications to SHA also serves as her exam registration. If your daughter is unable to join us for either exam, Sacred Heart Academy offers the option to submit HSPT results from another school. Please reach out  to Tammy Hart for details.

Online Application

Applying to Sacred Heart Academy is Supported by an Online Checklist
Our Sacred Heart Academy Portal (MySHA) will serve as your admission portal now, and later will convert into your parent portal once your daughter has enrolled. Parents/guardians will be instructed to create an account when you begin your daughter’s application, enabling you to view your admission checklist, and stay up-to-date with your progress. Your MySHA portal account will be updated daily, allowing you to know when your daughter’s admission profile has been completed.

Academic Records

Available Electronically on Your Portal (MySHA) Checklist
The Release of Records Form authorizes your daughter’s current school to release her records to SHA. Please complete and sign this form and give it to your daughter’s current school; her records will be sent directly to SHA and are kept confidential. Records should not be uploaded by parents.

Math and English/Language Arts Teacher Recommendations

Available Electronically on Your Portal (MySHA) Checklist
Parents/guardians are asked to submit electronic Teacher Recommendation Forms to your daughter’s current English and Math teachers. The recommendation forms will be sent directly to SHA, and their contents will be kept confidential. By submitting the request, you accept the confidentiality agreement.

Parent Interview

Understanding Your Daughter Through Your Eyes
As part of the application process, parents/guardians of applicants are required to complete a parent interview preferably during your daughter's SHA for a Day Shadow Visit. This conversation will give you an opportunity to learn more about our curriculum, ask questions, and tell us more about your daughter.

Student Interview

Learning More About Your High School Aspirations
As part of the application process, applicants are required to complete a student interview during their SHA for a Day Shadow Visit. This conversation with our admissions team will give your daughter the opportunity to ask questions as well as allow us to get to know her as a student and person.

SHA for a Day
Shadow Program

There is no better way to experience SHA than spending the school day with us. Your daughter will enjoy amazing student-teacher interactions as well as the warmth and welcome of our student community.

Words cannot describe the overall feeling your daughter will experience during her visit to SHA! We look forward to scheduling this important visit with you.
