School Counseling

Sacred Heart Academy Bryn Mawr (SHA) School Counselors are vital members of the education team, supporting all areas of development: academic, social, and career. The counselors help each student to become responsible, contributing members of society.

Supporting Individual Strengths and Needs

At Sacred Heart Academy Bryn Mawr (SHA), we value the whole child and believe social and emotional well-being to be integral components to a student’s learning process and personal success.  Our counseling team works alongside faculty and directors to support students’ individual strengths and needs. Through the implementation of a cohesive seminar and wellness curriculum alongside opportunities for small group and individual counseling support, our students have consistent opportunities to develop and hone their academic success and interpersonal skills.

Counselors liaise with outside service providers to ensure that every student can reach her potential while feeling supported. Counselors are eager to collaborate at any time; students and families are encouraged to reach out.

Important Note: A student has the right to expect that what she discusses with the counselor (or any faculty or staff member) will remain confidential. "Confidentiality" is a term used in school counseling to describe the student's right to privacy. Please be aware that the counselor reserves the right to consult with other professionals when necessary, but will maintain confidentiality unless the student authorizes the disclosure. If the counselor judges that a situation involves "clear and present danger" to the student or to other students, confidentiality may be broken.
